Attorney Data Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Where Does the Data Come From?
LAW119 collects attorney information exclusively from official, publicly available sources — including state bar association websites, state court registries, and government licensing databases. This information is part of the public record and is freely accessible to anyone.
What Information Is Displayed?
We display the following public record information for licensed attorneys:
- Full name
- Bar state and registration number
- License status (active, inactive, etc.)
- Year of admission
- Law school
- Office address and phone (if publicly listed)
- Law firm name
Can I Remove My Profile?
Because attorney licensing information is part of the public record maintained by state bar associations, LAW119 does not remove attorney profiles. This is consistent with industry practice across legal directories (e.g., Avvo, Justia, FindLaw). However, we are happy to:
- Correct any inaccurate information on your profile
- Help you claim and manage your profile on our platform
- Update your contact details or practice information
Exceptions
In limited circumstances, we may consider removal requests — for example, if an attorney can demonstrate a specific safety concern or if required by applicable law. Such requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Legal Basis
Attorney licensing information is a matter of public record. The display of such information is protected under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. LAW119 operates as a legal information directory, similar to other established platforms in the legal industry.
